Final Project Design.

After blood, sweat, and tears, the final is done! I am very happy with the outcome. Please see my creative brief below

" For this project, I chose the company LovePrint. This company is near and dear to my heart as it is my Aunt Camille’s company that she started in 2004. She takes fingerprint impressions into soft jeweler’s wax and then casts them into sterling silver or gold. From these pieces she can create cuff links, necklaces, key chains and bangle bracelets. She even has started LovePrint Paws that captures your pet’s paw-prints. The LovePrint concept is brilliant because she takes the most personal impression of someone and creates an everlasting memory. I decided that I wanted to create a package for the finished product as she did not have an official package. My idea was to keep the package bold in color, modern in text and design, and relevant to the product. The main concept for the project was to take the fingerprint and make that the pattern. I find that the fingerprint is such a natural design, and its organic form truly is something intricate and beautiful. I decided to split the package with both the fingerprint pattern and solid colors so that I could experiment with different fonts. For the LovePrint I chose the font “Kolari”, this font was a distressed type font and I found that it’s texture complimented the fingerprint pattern and the fingerprint that replaces the ‘O” in LovePrint. I then used another font, “Mabella “, that I felt complimented Kolari. The important thing for me was to have a balance between the fonts and the pattern. On the inside, I wanted to keep it more simple and I chose to have just the fingerprint design and I created a plush purple pillow for the jewelry to rest on inside the package. I kept the colors bold so that the package captures your attention and at the same time, the purples and pinks don’t make the package chaotic. This truly was a more challenging project since there was no package to redesign. I had to start from scratch making the choices of what information was important to inlclude. Overall, I found that my ideas were well executed and I feel that the package design is bold, modern, and relevant to the product."
